The Secret Lives of Numbers is a Java applet, optimized for performance on a 700Mhz+ Intel PC running Internet Explorer 5 in Windows 98/2000/XP.

[Optimal configuration]

Macintosh-based visitors may experience problems running the applet in Netscape Navigator. We recommend that you download the latest version of the Macintosh Runtime for Java (MRJ), which is available here for MacOS 7/8/9, or here for MacOS X. We also recommend that you run the applet from Internet Explorer 5, or (better yet) from an iCab or Omniview browser. The Macintosh Java implementation still lags behind that of the PC as of this writing; expect slower performance. [Macintosh user information]
The Secret Lives of Numbers is an especially large consumer of RAM. We recommend running the project on a machine with plenty of RAM; we also suggest that you quit other applications before you launch your browser. Please be aware that the initial download for the project is approximately 250k in size, taking about 35 seconds through a 56k modem. [Resource consumption]
